Files with .CRDOWNLOAD extension contain incomplete data downloaded using Google Chrome web browser. CRDOWNLOAD files are typically found in browser’s download folder (folder is by default named Downloads and located in user files).
CRDOWNLOAD files are changed to their original form after download process completes. Presence of CRDOWNLOAD files in user’s folder is not a cause to worry. CRDOWNLOAD files allow download process to resume after it has been paused or stopped. Many web browsers and download managers implement similar solutions but use different filename suffixes. For example: the file extension .DOWNLOAD is used by Firefox and Safari, while the .PART file extension is used by download managers such as FlashGet.
